Chicken Wing Contest: ‘Battle to the Bone'

San Diego restaurant chain Wings-N-Things still accepting contestants for Apr. 4 showdown

If you’re an avid chicken wing-lover, you might want to enter a tasty local competition.

On Apr. 4, Wings-N-Things on Carmel Mountain Rd. will host an event called “Battle to the Bone” in hopes of crowning San Diego’s ultimate Wing King or Queen.

According to a Wings-N-Things spokesperson, contestants will compete in a series of wing-related events until only one victor is left standing.

Reps said more than 350 people have already qualified to enter the contest by competing in the restaurant’s “March Madness Atomic Wing Challenge.” That challenge consists of eating 12 super spicy “atomic” hot wings in one sitting.

Whoever accomplishes that fiery feat between now and Apr. 2 at any of the 14 San Diego Wings-N-Things locations is automatically qualified to partake in “Battle to the Bone.”

The winning Wing King or Queen will be rewarded special prizes, including a year’s worth of free Wings-N-Things.
