A man is in custody after leading police on a chase from Kearny Mesa to Mission Valley.

It ended when officers caught the suspect at the bottom of a canyon with the help of three K-9's.

It began when they tried to stop the man on Balboa Avenue near Genesee in a car that had been stolen.

In Hillcrest, the man ditched his car, and took off on foot down the canyon.

Officers caught him about an hour-and-a-half later.. hiding in bushes.
