The Chargers named their 2012 captains on Thursday.
No surprise, QB Philip Rivers will wear the C for the 7th straight year. His fellow offensive captains are TE Antonio Gates and C Nick Hardwick.
On defense, LB Takeo Spikes and S Eric Weddle get the nod. The special teams captain is S Darrell Stuckey.
The Chargers also released their first injury report for 2012. It's nice and short, with only three names.
OL Jared Gaither did not practice. DT Antonio Garay and RB Ryan Mathews were limited to individual drills. Odds are the guy with the best chance of playing in the season opener Monday night in Oakland is Garay.
The good news is, LB Melvin Ingram's deep thigh bruise is fine, he didn't even show up on the injury report.
