If you watched the game against Seattle, this won't come as a surprise. The Chargers have added a defensive lineman.
Doug Worthington is a 300 pounder who has bounced around the league the last few years.
To make room defensive tackle Damik Scafe was waived.
NBC 7’s Sports Director Jim Laslavic believes Chargers need to develop some “nasty” on defense.
“Someone has to step up and start making plays. Need some attitude,” Laslavic said. “I'm convinced the offense with Philip Rivers running the show will be tough to stop but the defense needs to step it up.”
At Chargers Park on Monday, linebacker Dwight Freeney was trying to calm all the naysayers who were still buzzing about the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks three days later.
“This is all a process and there’s no panic here,” said Freeney.

“We just take little things here and there, we try and learn from those experiences and move on. Hopefully we have everything moving in the right direction when it counts.”
To Laslavic’s credit, he was a professional linebacker in the NFL from 1973 to 1982 for the Detroit Lions, San Diego Chargers and Green Bay Packers.
One more note about Worthington - he went to the same high school as Chargers GM Tom Telesco.
