Purse Stolen While Mother Grieves at Cemetery

Celena Webb believes the thief struck while she was getting flowers and fresh water for her daughter's grave

Someone stole an Oceanside woman’s while she was visiting the grave site of her deceased daughter police said.

Oceanside police are investigating the theft of the purse from an unlocked car parked at Eternal Hills Memorial Park on Jan. 12.

Celena Webb was visiting the grave of her daughter Andrea who was born with heart problems and Down syndrome according to our media partner the North County Times.

Webb told the paper her little girl went through a number of surgeries and suffered an infection in the brain. She and her husband made the decision in April to remove the child from life support. Andrea was 5 years old.

Webb has visited the child’s resting place at least once a week since April, placing fresh flowers on the grave.

She told the paper she believes someone stole her purse while she was at the cemetery, just a few yards from her car.
