Attention thieves: when you climb a seven foot iron gate to steal a surveillance camera from the outside of a business, it may be a good idea to remember that the camera is on and capturing an image of your face.

San Diego Crime Stoppers released an image of a man suspected of removing two cameras that were fixed to the side of an office building in Little Italy on March 10.

The theft happened at Arnold & Arnold on India Street at around midnight.

Anyone with information should call the SDPD Central Division at (619) 744-9500 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. There's a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anonymous email and text message can be sent via www.sdcrimestoppers.com.

Amazingly, this may not be the dumbest crook of the week in the local area: A bearded man tried to cross the border trying using a woman's ID.
