After a long struggle, Sycuan Casino in the East County has been granted a license to sell alcohol.

The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control approved the license on Thursday.

The casino lies east of the community of Dehesa. Some residents there have protested the possible alcohol sales, citing concerns about the road to the casino -- which is dark and narrow -- and said they were concerned about possible accidents.
