Cars Sprayed With Racial Slurs

At least five cars were spray painted with swastikas and racial epithets overnight in two areas in Mira Mesa and Rancho Peñasquitos.

"We have the n-word, we have swastikas. Obviously there are people that are very much into hating people," said Trey Ustick.

His daughter's car was spray painted with a slogan that read "$ Ain't Nothing". Ustick said he had no idea what that meant.

Four other cars were vandalized on the 117000-block of Westview Parkway in Mira Mesa just east of Black Mountain Rd. Another car was spray painted with a swastika on the 9100-block of Truman St. off Black Mountain Rd. in Rancho Peñasquitos. The two locations are about a mile apart.

Police say the vandalism was reported by a passer-by about 6:30 a.m. It appears the crimes are random, but police are continuing their investigation.

"The police were asking, because of some of the racial epitaphs, if we're Jewish. We're not, we're Christian," said Ustick.

Te Guo's mother's also car was spray painted with a swastika.

"I think it's a joke or something because this neighborhood is really safe, people are very nice," he said.

Diana McFarland has lived in the area for 25-years and says it makes her uneasy.

"A little nervous that someone would come into a quiet neighborhood like this and do something so hateful and so mean," she said.
