Car Slams into Jack in the Box Building

An eight-year-old child passenger was also in the car at the time of the Imperial Beach collision

An adult driver slammed their vehicle into a Jack in the Box in Imperial Beach Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to officials, the collision happened around 11 a.m. at 9th Street and Palm Avenue. An eight-year-old passenger was also in the car at the time of the crash.

The driver was transported to UCSD Medical Center. The child was complaining of stomach pains and was transported to Rady Childrenโ€™s Hospital, authorities said.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

No other injuries have been reported. The extent of the damage to the building is unknown at this point.
