Car Slams Into House Near Old Town

The collision happened on Juan Street Sunday morning

A driver slammed into a house near Old Town San Diego Sunday morning while the resident of the home was inside.

Authorities said the collision happened just before 10 a.m. on the 2600 block of Juan Street near the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

NBC 7 San Diego spoke with the resident of the home, Rick Vincentz, who said he was sitting in his living room watching a golf game on television when a vehicle slammed into his living room wall.

Vincentz said the car appeared to have bounced off the curb in front of the residence before crashing into the house.

The collision knocked everything off the wall and left a crack down the wall, Vincentz said.

Vincentz wasn’t injured in the collision but said the passenger in the car was complaining of pain. Vincentz called 911 following the crash.

Vincentz told NBC 7 he’s been renting the Juan Street home for about four months. He said his landlord would be assessing the damages to the property.
