Car Crashes into Pedestrian in City Heights

A pedestrian was struck and injured by a car in City Heights Monday night, authorities said.

When emergency personnel arrived to the scene on Fairmount Avenue and Dwight Street just after 8 p.m., the pedestrian was stuck in the windshield of the car, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The extent of the pedestrian's injuries are not known at this time.

The driver is still on the scene. Police do not yet know if drugs or alcohol were involved.

Police are investigating the accident as medics respond to the pedestrian.
