Forget the quick cup of coffee, pretty soon Keurig machines will be able to brew an entire hot meal on the fly.
Campbell’s Soup and Keurig are partnering up to offer teeny, tiny, single-serve soup pods that can be brewed at the touch of a button using the popular Keurig coffee machine.
Starting next year, Campbell’s Soup Co. and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters will begin offering the savory soup pods for the Keurig.
The new soup K-cups will contain a broth that can be brewed just like a standard coffee K-cup. The soup can be brewed into a cup over a packet of a special dry mixture containing noodles and vegetables.
As of right now, the companies are planning to launch three types of new soup pods including a chicken broth and noodle soup.
The Associated Press reports that the Keurig machines self-clean through the brewing process, so the flavors of soup and coffee won’t mix brew after brew.
