CV Police Seek Armed and Dangerous Shooting Suspect

Chula Vista police launched a search Thursday night for a man suspected in a shooting earlier this month who’s considered armed and dangerous.

Police say Alejandro Gutierrez was involved in an attempted homicide in Chula Vista on April 2.

He was spotted by U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Team members at 6 p.m. Thursday in the area of Second Avenue and Palomar in Chula Vista. When they tried to stop him, he ran away, according to a news release from the Chula Vista Police Department.

Police said Gutierrez ran into a tunnel and officers sents a SWAT robot device in after him.

However, after searching the tunnel and surrounding areas for two hours, officers were unable to find him.

Gutierrez is described as 38 years old with brown short-shaved hair, brown eyes and appearing clean shaven. He is 5 feet 9 inches and 180 pounds.
