BB gun shootings may have intentionally targeted businesses in the University Heights and Normal Heights area of San Diego.
Shots were reported Thursday in the 2400 block of Howard Street at 7:39 p.m. and the 3400 block of El Cajon Blvd. at 7:46 p.m., according to San Diego Police officers.
Store windows at Church's Chicken were struck with BB gun pellets and the Golden West Furniture Store on El Cajon Boulevard. It is not yet clear which businesses on Howard Street were hit.
Pellets shot at Church's Chicken hit with enough force to blast through a thick glass door. Erandy Garcia, was in the line of fire, taking a customer's order at the counter. She told NBC 7 there was a loud bang then glass chards sprayed inside the restaurant.
Victor Tran, manager at Golden West Furniture said he was shocked to find a glass crew boarding up the store front when he reported to work.
"We had to send for somebody, they just finished," he said. "We had to pay them $1,000 for that."
The incidents occurred less than two miles apart and may be connected, SDPD officers said. But, the motive is unknown.

"We have no enemy around here at all so I don't know what is going on," Tran said.
Police said their only witnesses did not actually see the suspect or suspects and security cameras in the area did not record any images of these incidents.
No one was injured by the pellets.
