Thieves stole dozens of iPads from two North County elementary schools in the last two days, according to officials.

Around 2 a.m. on Monday morning, the burglars stole roughly 12 iPads from Ada Harris Elementary School in Cardiff.

A similar incident happened early Sunday morning at Cardiff Elementary School. Sheriff's deputies discovered someone had gotten through the school's fence and two classrooms had broken windows.

The total loss from both burglaries is estimated at more than $12,000.

Anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to call authorities.
