Alot of us think that when we give to a non-profit organization, we're giving to a 'worthy' cause, not realizing that most of the time the CEO's, presidents, etc. are getting a hefty salary. I guess it's time for us to do some MAJOR homework before we give to ANY 'charitable' cause. I'm just sorry that the majority of the money isn't going to the poor animals. And if anyone says that the majority of the money IS going to the animals I want concrete PROOF, because they're always crying for money/donations, and talking about how 'desperate' they are. I have donated to this center in the past and planned on doing it again. FORGET IT!! I will email the center and let them know this struggling mom will always find something to give to the animals, but certainly not someone who's willing to take it out of the mouths of homeless animals and into their own pocket. ... Sounds to me like he/she is making a HUGE 'profit' on the donations of good people thinking that they're donating to a 'non-profit' organization that was meant to take care of animals, NOT people! How about if that CEO cuts his/her ridiculous salary by, say, 110K a year, and purchases a quality security system-a one time purchase, and then takes roughly another 2K per month and pours it in to the needs of the animals? That would show that the CEO really IS concerned about the health and welfare of the animals that are entrusted into his/her care. And paws, you are right.
