A vegetation fire sparked near Border Field State Park Thursday night, authorities confirmed.

Officials said the brush blaze started in the 1500 block of Hollister Street and Monument Road, near the U.S.-Mexico border, just after 6 p.m.

About 20 units responded to the fire. Within about an hour and a half, the blaze was contained.

Officials at the scene told NBC 7 the fire scorched about one-third of an acre.

No structures were threatened and bo injuries were reported.
