Firefighters and California Highway Patrol officers were called to an area along northbound Interstate 5 near SeaWorld San Diego for a brush fire Sunday afternoon.
After several minutes, crews were able to control the fire before any nearby buildings were damaged.
The fire started under the highway near the riverbed, officials said.
Investigators were called to the scene.
