A 1,600-square foot brush fire that broke out in Lincoln Acres on Monday afternoon near homes has been fully contained, a Heartland Fire and Rescue spokesperson said.

The blaze began at about 1 p.m. and slowly moved in medium brush at Euclid Avenue and Ridgeway Drive, the official said. It was contained at about 1:30 p.m.

Firefighters from National City, South Bay and Chula Vista departments responded.

Air resources were not deployed, and no homes were evacuated.
