Cal Fire and Rescue firefighters have fully contained a 12-acre Jamul brush fire that started Friday afternoon in Sycamore Canyon.

Cal Fire responded with two helicopters on scene as well as ground crews after the blaze began at about 4:30 p.m. at Hwy 94 and Otay Lakes Road.

The fire was contained at 5:26 p.m., a Cal Fire spokeswoman said, adding that firefighters will remain on scene to "mop up any remaining hot spots."

No structures were threatened, Cal Fire said.
