Brand USA Tourism Agency Shoots Promo Spots in San Diego

San Diego County sites were on the itinerary for a recent series of video shoots by Brand USA, a nationwide public-private partnership that promotes global tourism in the United States.

Officials said stops for the Jan. 23-24 shoots included The Headquarters at Seaport District and Little Italy in downtown San Diego, and San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park near Escondido. The shoots were coordinated with the San Diego Tourism Authority.

Brand USA produced the videos featuring hosts who speak Japanese and Spanish, for promotional spots that will run in Japan and Mexico.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Brand USA was established in 2010 by Congress as part of the United States Travel Promotion Act. The legislation provides federal matching funds for dollars raised by the agency from private-sector partners in the travel and hospitality industries.
