Body Found on Cliff Was SDSU Student

Sandy Earlene Khoo appeared to have fallen about 50 feet down the cliff

A young woman whose body was found on the cliffs below the Torrey Pines Gliderport was an 18-year-old SDSU student from Northern California, according to the medical examiner's office.

People spotted Sandy Earlene Khoo’s body about 80 feet up at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A rescue helicopter lowered a paramedic, who determined the woman was dead. A flashlight in the "on" position and a bottle of water were found near the dead woman, who appeared to have fallen about 50 feet down the cliff.

It's a somber reminder of how dangerous the area can be, police said Sunday.

"Obviously, the cliffs are dangerous, and they do have areas marked off where you shouldn't go and you should adhere to that," said San Diego police Lt. Tom Wood.

Police said Khoo may have been there for some time.  An autopsy showed she died of multiple blunt force injuries.
