Body Found in River in Oceanside: OPD

A body of a man was found Saturday in a river in Oceanside, Oceanside police confirm. 

OPD received a call around 12:15 p.m. from a person saying they spotted a body floating in the Luis Rey River adjacent to Capistrano Park. 

Oceanside Fire Department along with lifeguards responded to the scene where they found a body of a man face down in the river, said Tom Bussey, Public Information Officer for OPD.

The body appeared to have been in the river for a while, Bussey said. 

The County Medical Examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
