Body Found at Scene of Brush Fire Near Santee Lakes

A body was found Saturday afternoon after firefighters put out a small brush fire in Santee, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department (SDSO) said.

The body was found around 2:15 p.m. at the 9300 block of Fanita Parkway, near Santee Recreational Lakes. Firefighters were called the scene to put out a spot fire, Heartland Fire & Rescue Department said.

After the fire was out, investigators found the body, according to the SDSO.

The sheriff's department bomb/arson investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause of death.
