Two teenagers were found shot to death by at least one unknown suspect Tuesday evening at an Oceanside park.

A 14-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy were the victims of a shooting at about 10:30 p.m. in the northeast area of Libby Lake Park, which is located north of the San Luis Rey River and east of Douglas Drive.

Oceanside police did not release the victims' names and has not narrowed down the number of suspects.

The park is surrounded by a residential community and several schools, including Libby Elementary.

The incident was not expected to affect the school because a large construction zone separates the campus from the fence line, Oceanside police Capt. Leonard Mata said.

Anyone with information about the double homicide is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
