Someone called Oceanside police around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday reporting shots fired. When officers arrived they found a man and woman dead in the northeast area of Libby Lake Park located east of Douglas Drive and north of the San Luis Rey River. Monica Dean reports.

The incident was not expected to affect the school because a large construction zone separates the campus from the fence line, Oceanside police Capt. Leonard Mata said.

Anyone with information about the double homicide is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
