Coast Guard Helps Boat in Distress

Local Coast Guard crews rushed to the La Jolla area Saturday to help a boat in distress, officials said.

The 28-foot deep-sea fishing boat was reported about half a mile off the north end of the coast around 4:15 p.m.

U.S. Coast Guard officials confirmed the vessel -- occupied by two people -- was taking on water.

Coast Guard officials were able to stop the leak and get the boat's engine back up and running. No injuries were reported.
