Blood Discovered in Mysterious Hit and Run

Officers are looking for the driver who they say may be injured

Chula Vista police are investigating a mysterious hit and run crash in which blood was found in the vehicle and damage was done to a local shopping mall parking lot.

Officers were called to the Terra Nova Plaza on East H Street just after 4 a.m. Friday.

Once there, they discovered an overturned truck in the parking lot with a smashed windshield and blood inside.

Trees were knocked over in one section of the parking lot with large branches covering parking spaces.

No driver was found. No other vehicles were involved.

Investigators traced the license plate of the vehicle to a Chula Vista address but they are not sure who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.

Officials are searching area hospitals for anyone who may have requested treatment that might fit this incident.
