Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Escondido Collision

A bicyclist sustained serious injuries after a collision in Escondido Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Police said the traffic accident happened around 3:45 p.m. An adult male was riding his bicycle across traffic lanes in the 1400 block of Auto Park Way near Valley Parkway when a vehicle traveling southbound collided with the cyclist.

The bicyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the car was not injured.

The collision is still being investigated. The victim’s name has not been released.
