Bees Attack Dogs, Killing 1

Homeowner says "thousands and thousands" of bees swarmed

A swarm of 4,000 to 6,000 bees attacked three dogs in Chula Vista, killing one dog and leaving at least two others injured. Two people were also stung by the bees and survived the incident.

A homeowner on Ocala Avenue says she went outside just before 2 p.m. after hearing her dogs making a noise. She says her dogs were covered in “thousands and thousands” of bees.

Bee-removal workers killed the swarm with a special spray. They found the hive between a fence and removed more than 50 pounds of honey and honeycomb.
