“Barrett Fire Fire” Fully Contained: Officials

Nearly 100 acres burned

A fire in Marron Valley has been fully contained after injuring one firefighter and burning 95 arces, CAL Fire officials reported Sunday.

The cause of the blaze, known as the Barrett Fire, is still under investigation.

The fire was first reported Saturday afternoon, 1/4 mile east of Barrett Lake, north of Potrero, according to officials.

The cost to fight the fire is estimated at $200,000 and it's expected to be fully controlled by 6 p.m. Sunday, officials said.

In all, 10 fire engines, six crews, four water tenders, two helicopters and tankers, one bulldozer, an airtanker and 115 firefighters were fighting the flames as of noon Sunday.
