San Diego fire investigators are looking into why a fireworks barge caught fire in Mission Bay after midnight Thursday.

The barge wasn't carrying fireworks when it caught fire at Sea World Drive and the south shore boat ramp after 1:30 a.m. according to firefighters.

Firefighters arrived and poured water on the fire, putting it out in about 20 minutes.

The cause is under investigation.
