Aztecs Earn Spot In Championship Game

SDSU stays undefeated in Mountain West play with big win over UNLV

Before they even kicked off in Las Vegas, the Aztecs football team knew they were the winners of the Mountain West West Division.

Nevada lost in the afternoon, handing San Diego State a spot in the conference title game. But did they take it easy against UNLV? Negative, Ghost Rider.

San Diego State dismantled the Rebels. The Aztecs forced four turnovers (two interceptions and two fumbles) and running back Donnel Pumphrey went bonkers, rushing 14 times for 139 yards and two touchdowns in a 52-14 Aztecs win.

If SDSU beats Nevada next week, they will very likely host the Mountain West Conference Championship game. We do know they'll play that game against Air Force on Saturday, December 5.
