Arrest Made After String of Del Mar Burglaries

Deputies have arrested a man they believe is linked to a string of burglaries in a Del Mar neighborhood.

Beginning Monday, deputies began receiving calls from residents living along Stratford Court in Del Mar reporting burglaries and thefts, according to a statement from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The thefts took place in the night and early morning hours, deputies said.

One witness reporting seeing a suspicious-looking person looking through garage lockers in a condo complex near the reported burglaries. Deputies located the person near the corner of Camino Del Mar and Villa de la Valle and arrested him.

Deputies say the suspect is 24-year-old Adam Bautista of San Diego. In their investigation, deputies also found several items of stolen property in Bautista's possession.

Bautista is currently on parole and faces six residential burglary charges in addition to charges of petty theft and being in possession of ammunition.

The Encinitas Sheriff's Station is asking anyone in the Del Mar area that believes they were victims in this series to call Detective Mike Casey at 760-966-3500.
