Anza Wildfire Burns 35 Acres

Firefighters made progress on a 35-acre wildfire Thursday in Anza near Howard Road and Pony Trail Road, north of Route 371.

The fire was reported at 12:25 p.m. and grew to 35 acres by midafternoon. Ground and aerial units responded to the blaze. 

Cal Fire Riverside, Pechanga Fire department, Riverside County Fire department along with other agencies  had the fire 100-percent contained as of Friday.

The sheriff was called to assist in evacuations of twelve structures. No injuries have been reported.

Temperatures in the Anza area were in the mid-80s Thursday afternoon with wind gusts up to 15 mph.
