Another Wells Fargo Bank Robbed: FBI

An unknown man robbed a Wells Fargo bank branch in Carmel Valley Thursday afternoon, officials confirmed.

The robbery occurred at the Wells Fargo located at 3445 Del Mar Heights Rd. at around 3:35 p.m. An unknown man walked into the bank and demanded cash from several tellers.

After collecting an undisclosed amount of money the suspect fled on foot, running toward an apartment complex across the street from the Highlands Center. No one was injured in the heist.

Investigators say the suspect is described as a white male between 5-foot-9 and 6-feet tall. He was wearing a white baseball cap with some sort of logo on it, a dark shirt with print on the front, blue jeans and black Vans shoes. He's pictured above and in the photo gallery to the left.

This marks the fifth Wells Fargo bank robbery reported in San Diego since Dec. 18.

It is unknown if these robberies are in any way related, but here’s a look at the other Wells Fargo robberies in recent weeks:

• On Dec. 18, an unknown man possibly wearing make-up to disguise his face robbed a Wells Fargo located at 7875 Highland Village Place in the Torrey Highlands area. FBI agents said that suspect used a demand note and threatened to have a weapon. He fled the scene in a new Gray Dodge Charger with paper plates.
   
• On Dec. 26, an unknown man robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 9996 Scripps Ranch Blvd. The FBI says the suspect approached a victim teller with a demand note and had the teller put cash into an empty bag. After receiving an undisclosed sum of money, the robber quickly exited with some of the money spilling out of the bag. The suspect was last seen entering the passenger side of a getaway car parked near the bank.
   
• On Dec. 29 an unknown man robbed a Wells Fargo bank located at 9360 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. using a demand note. The FBI says the suspect is described as a Hispanic, 40-year-old male, approximately 5-foot-9, weighing 150 pounds. He fled the bank in a dark sedan with either a Baja California or out-of-state license plate, driving on Ruffin Road.
   
• On Dec. 31 a man robbed the Wells Fargo on Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach and demanded cash in a note. The teller provided the money and the suspect fled on foot.

Police arrested suspect James McWatters in connection with the Dec. 31 Pacific Beach bank robbery earlier this week. He was booked into jail Wednesday on robbery charges.
