AmericanWest Completes Purchase of 8 Pacific Trust Bank Branches

AmericanWest Bank, based in Spokane, Wash., expanded its footprint in San Diego and the nearby region when it completed the purchase of eight branches from Pacific Trust Bank.

The branch acquisitions obtained all the necessary regulatory approvals, clearing the way for their sale, AmericanWest said. Pacific Trust is a subsidiary of Banc of California Inc., based in Irvine, and previously headquartered in Chula Vista.

AmericanWest CEO Scott Kisting said the bank’s top priority is to demonstrate its commitment to its new customers, employees, and communities by providing each with exceptional service.

Four branches purchased by AmericanWest are in San Diego County: Chula Vista (two), El Cajon, and Clairemont. It purchased two in Riverside, one in Temecula. In Los Angeles County, it acquired a single branch in Lakewood.

At the close of the transaction, AmericanWest will have total assets of $4.1 billion, and 101 branches in California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah. The total in San Diego will be 11.
