New Alpine Barons Market Hosts Job Fair

The grocery store is looking to hire at least 30 new employees who live in the Alpine community

A brand-new Barons Market in Alpine is hosting a job fair in hopes of filling some positions before the grocery store opens for business this summer.

The family-owned grocery store is looking to hire more than 30 Alpine residents to fill those jobs. Interested applicants should apply in person at the Barons Market located at 1347 Tavern Rd. this Friday and Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Following the job fair, Barons Market plans to hire its employees within the next two or three weeks so there’s enough time to train the new hires before the store’s grand opening.

The new location will bring about three dozen new, local jobs to the neighborhood, as management has said they plann to prioritize hiring residents from Alpine.

The small grocery store chain – which focuses on all-natural, healthy, fresh and affordable food – announced their newest location back in January. This store will be the fifth Barons Market location to open in Southern California, joining the company’s list of existing stores in Point Loma, Rancho Bernardo, Temecula and Wildomar, Calif.

Company reps planned to transform the 15,000-square-foot space with the help of architect Dan Mortorana and interior designer Julie Dugas – the same duo behind the company’s four existing markets.

Like Barons Markets before it, this location will feature a large selection of organic, natural and specialty foods and fresh produce from local farms. The store will also boast more than 500 gluten-free items, a hot soup bar, fresh salad bar and antipasto bar and more than 400 microbrews showcasing San Diego’s craft beer culture.
