A Lakeside resident may have been growing marijuana on a rural patch of land near Foster Truck Trail and SR-67.

San Diego Sheriffs arrested Jacob Pitman on the property Thursday morning at approximately 6 a.m. Authorities were serving a search warrant gained from a previous narcotics case, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Due to the remoteness of the location, police sent a special tactical team called the Special Enforcement Detail, which provided backup support for the sheriffs.

A SWAT team also assisted the sheriffs in searching the land. The search occurred without incident, officers said.

Pitman was arrested for cultivating marijuana and committing a felony while armed with a firearm.
