An ATM from Rady Children’s Hospital was stolen and later recovered Wednesday morning.
Police said they received a call around 3:30 a.m. from hospital employees. Witnesses said they saw two people in a white van with the title "A and B plumbing" on it drag the ATM by a chain connected to the van.
Construction workers later saw the machine on the freeway, which led to a brief pursuit on the I-805. The ATM was dumped a few blocks from the hospital.
The suspects got away and no descriptions have been made, only that they were wearing plaid shirts.
