Updated 4:21 PM PDT, Wed, Jan 7, 2009

The $46 million winner of the California Lottery's Mega Millions game has claimed the winnings and will be introduced at a news conference Wednesday, state lottery officials said Tuesday evening.

The winner bought the ticket at a 7-Eleven on Cass Street near Loring Street in Pacific Beach and took several days before coming forward.

The winning combination, 2, 11, 19, 21, 34 and the Mega number 38, was announced Friday night.

Officials said a 2 p.m. news conference Wednesday in Kearny Mesa has been scheduled to introduce the winner.

Most California Lottery prizes are claimed within a couple days, and less than 2 percent go unclaimed, officials said. Winners have 180 days to claim their prizes after a drawing.
