4 Injured When Car, Motorcycle Collide in El Cajon: Heartland Fire

Neighbors say intersection is extremely dangerous

Four people were injured, the motorcyclist seriously injured, when a car and motorcycle collided in El Cajon, Heartland Fire officials said.

The crash happened at approximately 8:14 p.m. Tuesday at Greenfield Drive and Bostonia Street, just a few blocks north of Interstate 8 and Broadway.

Fire officials did not have details on how the crash happened.

Four people are involved. Three are being treated at the scene, and a fourth was taken to Sharp Memorial in critical condition.

Neighbors told NBC 7 accidents happen all the time at this intersection and hope this latest crash helps sparks some change.

"They basically have to come out halfway in the intersection because the stop sign is so far away and you can't see really because you have all this traffic and cars right there," said neighbor, Scott Pollard.

His wife Rachel added, "people just need to be more aware of their surroundings and just pay attention. It could be a motorcycle, it could be a kid on a bike, or a dog, you just never know. I've seen it all."

Greenfield Middle School is just a few blocks away and many children walk this route to and from school each day.

El Cajon police said the motorcyclist is expected to survive.
