    A preliminary-magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck a little more than a mile southeast of Big Bear, California Monday afternoon, May 19, 2014.

    A preliminary 3.9 magnitude earthquake struck outside the town of Big Bear Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

    The temblor struck at 1:08 p.m. a little over a mile southeast of the popular mountain town, 20 miles east of Yucaipa and 21 miles east of Lake Arrowhead.

    There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages.
