The ride will be closed until further notice, Blazey said.

Inspectors say it took an unusually-high 17 visits before the WindSeeker manufactured by Mondial Rides of the Netherlands was in compliance with industry ride and safety standards. Six WindSeeker rides in the U.S. and Canada have been shuttered during an investigation into chronic ride breakdowns, two of which happened at Knott's Berry Farm this month. Joel Grover reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Sept. 24, 2012. (Published Tuesday, Sep 25, 2012)

It was the Southern California amusement park’s second such incident in as many weeks and the latest in a string of international malfunctions on the Dutch-made ride.
