Food Tour Takes Bite Out of Oceanside

The Taste of Oceanside goes down between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in downtown Oceanside on Sept. 19

Want to get a taste for the food scene in Oceanside? A food tour happening this weekend will fulfill that craving with a bounty of samples and sips from the North County community’s best eateries.

The Taste of Oceanside goes down Saturday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in downtown Oceanside (300 N. Coast Hwy.) featuring bites from a variety of local restaurants including Masters Kitchen and Cocktail, 101 Café, Petite Madeline Bakery & Bistro, Mission Avenue Bar and Grill and renowned Southern BBQ joint, That Boy Good.

As attendees stroll from spot to spot, they can also enjoy samples of craft beer and wine along designated “Sip Stops,” set up inside downtown stores and offices.

Those watering hole locations include: Oceanside Jewelers; Fitness Quest Nutrition; Seaside Flowers; Whitlock Surf Shop; Dynamite Electric Bikes; Maximum Real Estate; Sole Lab, Hill Street Country Club, Apotheque Lifestyle Spa; and Century 21 Mission.

Participating sip sponsors this year include Stone Brewing Co., Leucadia Red Winery and Mission Brewery, to name a few.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online for $25 per person for just the food sampling or $35 per person for food sampling plus access to the wine and beer Sip Stops.

Organizers say they’re selling a total of 1,000 tickets and as of Wednesday, a little over 400 tickets had been purchased. The Taste of Oceanside sold out last year, and organizers are expecting a big crowd this time around too. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the MainStreet Oceanside Office (701 Mission Ave.) or at Sunset Market on Thursday evening at the corner of Pier View Way and Tremont Street.

By the way, this year’s tour will feature “Taste Trolleys” traveling a continuous loop throughout downtown Oceanside, so if you need a quick ride to your next bite, hop on.
