San Diego Bay Wine & Food Fest Wraps With Grand Tasting

The annual, week-long festival shines a scrumptious spotlight on San Diego's thriving food scene -- with wine, too

With scrumptious samples and sips galore, the week-long, 12th annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival (SDBWFF) wrapped Saturday with its main event: The Grand Tasting.

The grand finale event went down at San Diego's scenic Embarcadero Marina Park North near Seaport Village. There, feasting foodies had an opportunity to delight in delectable dishes and premiere wines.

The scrumptious samples and sips, from 150 wine and spirit purveyors and more than 60 local chefs, flowed throughout the afternoon. Bite by bite, food enthusiasts saw the best of San Diego's culinary talents that make up the thriving dining scene.

The Grand Tasting culminated with the annual “Chef of the Fest” competition to determine the best of the best, with one winning chef walking away with up to $50,000 in cash and prizes and, of course, serious bragging rights.

Until next year, SDBWFF. We'll be waiting with bated breath -- and forks in hand.
