The 2012 Aztecs football schedule is out. It would appear the early-season games are a lot more palatable than last year's non-conference slate.

2012 San Diego State Football Schedule (* = MWC game)

Date                      Opponent                           Location
Sept. 1                  at Washington                   Seattle, Wash. (CenturyLink Field)
Sept. 8                  Army                                     Qualcomm Stadium
Sept. 15                North Dakota                     Qualcomm Stadium
Sept. 22                San Jose State                   Qualcomm Stadium
Sept. 29                at Fresno State*               Fresno, Calif.
Oct. 6                    Hawai’i*                               Qualcomm Stadium
Oct. 13                  Colorado State*                               Qualcomm Stadium
Oct. 20                  at Nevada*                         Reno, Nev.
Oct. 27                  UNLV*                                  Qualcomm Stadium
Nov. 3                   at Boise State*                  Boise, Idaho
Nov. 10                 Air Force*                           Qualcomm Stadium
Nov. 17                 Open
Nov. 24                 at Wyoming*                     Laramie, Wyo.

Gone are a road trip to Michigan and a trip to Army (the first game SDSU had ever played in the state of New York), as well as the always tough TCU Horned Frogs.

It'll take the Aztecs a while to figure out how to replace Ryan Lindley and Ronnie Hillman, so the easier early-season schedule will help. A 3rd straight trip to a bowl game is not out of the question. In fact, at this point the program has become good enough for us to expect a game in late December.
