Three-Vehicle Accident on SR-125 Leaves Two Critically Injured

A car accident involving three vehicles on State Route 125  in Santee sent one car off the freeway and onto Mission Gorge Road and injured three people, according to Heartland Fire officials.

At about 1:20 p.m., officials reported a vehicle rescue was underway on SR-125 on Mission Gorge Road.

Officials said the rescue was the result of an accident that involved three cars in the northbound lanes of SR-125.

During the accident, one of the vehicles rolled over off the freeway through a fence and onto Mission Gorge Road.

Two males were transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital with major trauma. The condition of the third person who was injured was unclear.

It wasn't immediately clear how the accident occurred.

Traffic in the area was delayed as officials investigated the accident.
