The reward to find the person or persons who planted razor blades in Bonita Cove is going up.
The San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the Mission Beach Women's Club (MBWC) are offering a combined $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
Several razor blades were found Sunday and Monday in and near the children’s play area with the sharp sides facing up.
MBWC said the priority was for investigators to find the person responsible and make the park a safer place for families to visit.
Razor blades were also found in Bonita Cove Park multiple times in 2013, including one instance where a mother was injured. Six similar incidents have occurred over the past two years where one or more suspects planted blades in Bonita Cove Park, police said.
He said it is very difficult to investigate because the incidents are spread out, with four to six months in between each.
To date, no arrests have been made.
