17-Year-Old Shot While Walking Home

Police are investigating a shooting on Poplar Street that left a 17-year-old victim in grave condition early Sunday morning.

A 17-year-old was fatally shot in the Azalea/Hollywood Park neighborhood early Sunday morning, authorities reported.

According to police, the teenager was walking home on the 4200 block of Poplar Street at 12:05 a.m. when the shooting occurred.

When police arrived, they found him down in the middle of the street, but no suspects in the area.

The teen was transported to a hospital where he died on Monday morning.

There is no suspect information available at this time.

Police are urging witnesses and anyone with information about this shooting to contact the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
