A 15-year-old student was stabbed by a fellow student at Ramona High School two weeks ago, San Diego County Sheriff's officials said Tuesday.
The stabbing happened at approximately 11:40 a.m. on June 6 at the school, located at 1401 Hanson Lane.
Deputies first responded to the school after school officials notified law enforcement officials of the stabbing.
A 15-year-old student was found stabbed in front of the school, deputies said. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene and later took him to a local hospital for further treatment.
The suspect, a 16-year-old male, is a fellow student at the school, deputies said.
Their initial investigation revealed that the pair knew each other prior to the incident and were both attending summer classes. At some point during the day, the two got into a physical altercation and the 16-year-old stabbed the victim. The 16-year-old then walked away.
Deputies later found the suspect at the scene and took him home.

Sheriff's officials say the incident appears to be isolated and there is no danger to anyone attending summer classes.
